Only Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in list of top 100

KOCHI: None of the Indian institutions has made it to the top 50 institutions in the latest ranking of world institutions on research performance by SCImago institutional rankings (SIR) in 2012. While the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) falls in the first 100 in the world report, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is way behind at 376 and IIT Kharagpur at 460 in the rankings….

CSIR, RSC ink agreement to advance research in cheminformatics

NEW DELHI: The agreement signed today by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research between its Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD) initiative and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) envisions conducting workshops and conferences to build links between experts and leaders in the coming years.

The partnership will focus on jointly building an online repository of real and virtual molecular structures along with developing free-to-use software tools for drug discovery and development, a government release said…..

CSIR-OSDD Collaborates with the Royal Society of Chemistry

NEW DELHI: In pursuit of common aims and to raise awareness of the importance of Cheminformatics to accelerate the discovery of novel therapies for neglected diseases like TB and Malaria, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which provides scientific and industrial R&D that maximises the economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between its Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD) initiative and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the largest European organisation for advancing chemical sciences in its headquarter here in New Delhi….

Food park to come up in Mysore

29 January 2012

BANGALORE: The Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) plans to set up a food park in Mysore to provide a one-stop solution to food producers and manufacturers, said institute Director Ram Rajsekharan here on Monday.

The park will provide guidance, undertake analysis of food quality and explore the possibility of helping with licensing, he said at the Food Safety Forum 2013 meet, organised by the Centre for Sustainable Development to create awareness on the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) – 2006.
