Conference on Role of Media in Inculcating Scientific Temper and Awareness Communication Concludes

A two day International Conference on Role of Communication Media in Inculcating Scientific Temper & Awareness Communication, by CSIR-NISCAIR, Vigyan Prasar, NCSTC and NCSM concluded here today.

The day conference concluded with the valedictory session having Eminent Scientist and Educator Prof. Yash Pal and Ms. Mallika Sarabhai, Activist & Indian Classical Dancer as key note speaker. Prof. Yashpal in his address focussed on the questions asked by children. He said we must listen to children because it is only children who asks us why and how every phenomenon around us is happening. Measures to improve quality of city lakes

HYDERABAD: City-based National Environment Engineering Research Institute (Neeri) has suggested that Osmansagar and Himayatsagar reservoirs be linked with the proposed Godavari drinking water supply project (Maulana Abul Kalam Hyderabad Srujala Sravanthi scheme) and the Pranahita-Chevella project for long-term benefits. In a report to the government, it also suggested 17 other measures to improve water quality of the two lakes….

Neeri scientist develops technique to store and transport hydrogen

Contract Signed for Micro Level Aquifer Mapping

Central Ground Water Board under Ministry of Water Resources today signed a contract with Council of Scientific Industrial Research – National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI) to implement the pilot project on “Aquifer characterization using advanced geophysical techniques in representative hydrogeological terrains of India”. The contract was signed in the presence of Minister of Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal. Also present on the occasion were Minister of State for Water Resources and Minority Affairs, Shri Vincent H. Neeri develops catalytic converter for two-stroke engines

NAGPUR: Scientists at the Environmental Materials Division (EMD) of the city-based National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (Neeri) have developed a cost effective catalytic converter for two-stroke engines, usually used in two-wheelers, to minimize air pollution from exhaust. Neeri has completed the project in collaboration with an established two-wheeler manufacturer, which plans to adopt the technology for its vehicles….
