CSIR lab develops anti-nuclear radiation window glass

Nagpur: The Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), a council of scientific and industrial research (CSIR) laboratory in Kolkata, has developed ‘radiation shielding window glass’ (RSWG), that is used in nuclear reactors or any nuclear processing unit of the department of atomic energy (DAE). CGCRI had been working on the project for the past two decades and has managed to develop the glasses of 400X400cmX100mm3. The maximum size requirement of the RSWG by DAE is however 1mX1mX100mm. But, the smaller size glasses were already in use…
