07 August 2012

HYDERABAD: A senior scientist from CSIR- Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, in collaboration with his Japanese counterparts, has developed a novel type of organic chemical that achieved a record photovoltaic efficiency in Dye Sensitised Solar Cells (DSSC).

The chemical increased the efficiency of DSSC to a record 11.4 per cent, breaking the record set five years ago. An IICT press release here on Monday said the results of the findings were independently certified by a public research centre, Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Tsukuba (AIST) at Japan.
