‘Grandfather would not be happy with Goa today’

PANAJI: A childhood in Bangalore, away from the shadows of their illustrious grandfather was bound to keep Analia Mesquita and her two brothers oblivious of his importance to Goa. With Lucifer alias Mephistotopheles (pseudonyms referring to Satan as well as the bearer of light) alias Luis de Menezes Braganca for a paternal grandfather, Mesquita has every right to be proud of her ‘blue blood’.

“I am not a political person. I am not really interested in things of the past. For me science is more intriguing, where we strive to find something new, something for the future,” Mesquita, who works in the marine pollution department at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), said……
