IICT develops cooking oil with lowest calorie

HYDERABAD: The Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Tarnaka, in the city has developed a new cooking oil, which it claims will have the lowest calorie content in the market today.

The reduced calorie fat oil, as it is simply called, will have a calorie content of only 56 calories in every 10 gms, as opposed to the other ‘healthy’ oils that are in the market which contain 90 calories in 10 gms and will comprise a blend of sunflower and rice bran oil….
