Lucknow scientists identify Sukhna lake mystery weed

CHANDIGARH: The mystery of the Sukhna Lake’s mysterious incorrigible weed has finally been solved. The weed has been identified as Potamogeton crispus commonly known as curly leaf pond weed, found in alkaline and high nutrient water. The weed was identified by scientists of the National botanical Research Institute, (NBRI), Lucknow. In fact,for the past year and a half, the UT Administration had done its best to ensure that the lake could be de-weeded and had toyed with all possibilities including hiring the workers are responsible for cleaning the lake around the Jalmahal in Jaipur…..
