Neeri perfects science of helping farmers

NAGPUR: As part of the CSIR-800 programme by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, aimed at social and economic upliftment of villages, the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (Neeri) has developed four products and processes over the last few years. The institute would soon be transferring these technologies to manufacturers for mass production.

“CSIR-800 is an ongoing programme targeted at 800 million underprivileged people of the country who live in villages. All the 39 CSIR laboratories are expected to contribute to the rural sector through low cost scientific and technological interventions. The project has created some extremely simple but marvellous everyday utility products. Neeri is in the process of transferring four such products and processes.
