‘Incorporate lessons on climate change in junior classes’

GUWAHATI: Mridul Hazarika, director of TRA (Toklai Research Association), Toklai has said lessons on climate change needs to be incorporated in the early education system of schools for ensuring better understanding of the issue form young age.

Keeping in mind the concern over the present climate change, a consultative workshop on the issue was held at CSIR-NEIST (North East Science & Technology) in Jorhat on Tuesday. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Guwahati.

P G Rao, director of CSIR-NEIST said, “Technologies and solutions to combat climate change should offer sustainable benefits to people for meeting requirement in food, shelter and healthcare. New approaches have to be adopted for maintaining quality of drinking water and healthcare problems.” ……
