India Bio gift: Four BT Parks for state

BANGALORE: The eleventh edition of the Bangalore India Bio started off on a high note on Wednesday, with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa announcing a slew of ventures to fuel growth of the biotechnology (BT) sector in Karnataka.Among the major announcements is the plan to set up four biotech parks in Bidar, Dharwad, Mangalore and Mysore.

The first in line among biotech parks will be in Mysore, which would be developed in association with the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) for nutraceuticals and pharma products. It will be followed by the agritech park at Dharwad with University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), marine park at Mangalore with the state fisheries department and veterinary park at Bidar with the Veterinary University in north Karnataka…..
