CDRI completes 60

LUCKNOW: Set up in 1951, the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) celebrated its 60th annual day on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kumar Bansal, union minister of science and technology and earth sciences, who also holds the portfolio of parliamentary affairs, said, “The institute has evolved as a premier centre for drug research and discovery.” He also said that the mandate of the ministry of science and technology is to work for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Tushar Kanti Chakraborty, director, CDRI presented the annual report of the institute and highlighted its achievements. “The institute has infrastructural facilities for development of new drugs from conceptual to commercialisation stage,” he said…….
