Zero-resistance metals key to future, says Nobel laureate Leggett

PUNE: “If we can come up with superconducting particles that will retain their properties without requiring low temperatures it will revolutionise a major part of science as we know it,” said Nobel laureate Sir Anthony James Leggett at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) on Thursday. Leggett was referring to the wide application semiconductors can find, right from an MRI scan device that needs large magnetic fields. He also delivered the Foundation Day Lecture at the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL)…….
