Day 2: 90,000 people turn up at Trade Fair

NEW DELHI:The 30th India International Trade Fair 2010 saw an unprecedented rush on Day 2 with over 90,000 people flocking to more than 2,000 stalls. The Fair opened to the public on Friday, to the attendance of 70,000 people.

While 50,000 tickets were sold at the Pragati Maidan Metro station on Saturday, the number of commuters shot to 1,08,000 — up by 30,300 from the previous day.

The major attractions at the Fair seemed to be the International Stall, with 28 participant countries, and the CSIR Technofest. Ravi Gupta, a businessman from Gurgaon, said: “I visit the Trade Fair every year. But I particularly like the CSIR stall because the prototypes on display are extremely interesting. I love the dosa maker — 400 dosas an hour is incredible.”
