M. V Centre for Diabetes launches Diastep to prevent foot ulcers

M.V Centre for Diabetes, has launched Diastep, a footwear to prevent foot ulcers. The company made its first launch at Chennai before the footwear was introduced in Bangalore.

Dr Vijay Viswanathan, managing director, M V Hospital for Diabetes & Diabetes Research Centre, along with former Karnataka minister, P G R Shindhia launched the footwear, in the Bangalore market.

Diastep has been receiving an encouraging response across Tamil Nadu and patients from all over India have been visiting the Chennai centre to buy this. Introducing Diastep in Bangalore was a natural progression. With an introductory price of Rs 1350, we plan to take it to other metros and cities, said Dr Viswanathan.

The footwear has been designed after two years of collaborative research efforts of Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai, M. V. Hospital for Diabetes & Diabetes Research Centre, Chennai and Novo Nordisk Education Foundation. The footwear has a special PU sole with extra depth for more effective pressure distribution. The extra depth sole has a special tread for better grip and traction, specially designed insole bed and foam layer for added comfort and rigid counter to ensure limited joint mobility…..Read complete news item……
